Rainbow International’s Longest Serving Franchise Now In Its 25th Year And Still Growing!

Rainbow International Cardiff & Bristol and now in their 25th year of trading. A lot has changed in the restoration industry over the last 25 years but this Rainbow International business have continued to keep abreast and stay at the forefront of the industry, leading the way adopting innovative technology and diversifying their skills to service a broad spectrum of disaster recovery & restoration and specialist cleaning services.

Over the last few years the business has continued to listen to its customers and develop their skillset to meet the needs of the ever changing markets.

Most notably in recent times Rainbow Bristol & Cardiff have entered into new markets outside of the insurance sector and developed many local business opportunities/ relationships; such as with building contractors, councils, housing associations, property management companies, surveyors & schools. Supplying these businesses with a wide range of specialist services ranging from void and exit cleans, chemical, bio-hazard and trauma scene cleans, Industrial/builders cleans and commercial kitchen cleans to name but a few.

They have invested over £80,000 in the latest hi tech drying equipment over the last 3 years ensuring they are keeping at the forefront of innovation allowing them to offer the quickest most efficient service to their customers.

All of Rainbow Cardiff & Bristol’s technicians are BDMA qualified (British Damage Management Associations accreditation) and in addition to this the business champions continual learning and development for the technicians by offering them continual technical training.

This continual development has allowed the Rainbow franchise to offer the additional services to their customers such as NNLW ( notifiable non licensed asbestos work) and dealing with sharps and bio hazards.

There are important changes to the management structure too aimed at both short and long term growth.

Huw Smith – Director

Huw bought the franchise in 1994 and has just celebrated his 50th birthday. He continues to invest and grow the business and develop his team which now consists of 18 members of staff. Huw champions the continual development of his team members to ensure they are able to continually meet the developing needs of his customers. Huw’s commitment to his staff means he has several members of staff who have served more than 20 years within his business, whilst also recruiting new staff who bring with them skillsets outside of the damage restoration core skills, allowing the business to diversify and grow.

Paul grant – Operations manager in the field

Paul started in the industry as a trainee technician with Rainbow in 1996 at the age of 17. Paul quickly developed a passion for the industry and over the years of employment progressed his career from technician to a senior technician and more recently to operations manager. Paul has gained a huge amount of experience and technical knowledge through his dedication to attending technical training and also through dedicated self-development. Paul is passionate about helping customers and giving them the best technical solution and also passing on his skills and helping to train up and develop other technicians.

Andrew Jones – Office based Operations Manager 

Andrew has built up an extensive knowledge of property and commercial liability claims, from his previous employment with Rainbow International for an 8 year period as a senior technician (2000-2008).

In the last 10 years Andrew has developed this knowledge and experience further through working in insurance broking and with the national loss adjusters working on claims.

Andrew is cert CII qualified and has undergone significant further technical restoration training. He oversees the administration side of the business and provides a technical solution and helps organise the business from the office.
